I walked down the streets of District 4 that were paved a dull gray green. Like a hurricane before it decided to release its load upon the country. Many people were out and about, shopping, on a date, or even just out for a walk. The City Circle in District 4 was one of the few places of beauty in the District besides the ocean. It’s swelling blue waves a comfort for anyone that lived there. It’s caressing motion seemed to rock you into oblivion at night if you lived in a house near the shore like I did. Peacekeepers walked in uniform single lines down the streets. Their pretty black guns, oh how I wished to have one of those shiny weapons in my hands!, slung on their shoulders: patrolling the streets. As if this District could do anything about it. I let out a low scoff at them as they passed, earning a jab in the back with the barrel of a gun. I’ve had worse. A public whipping, the butt of a gun to my head. The small jab was nothing, though it’d give her brother, Apollo, a heart attack if he was with me. Maybe even punch the Peacekeeper that did it, but that would only end with something worse.
I cringed at the thought. I tended to keep my behavior at a low level with Apollo around. Being slightly polite only to the other people in the District. But Peacekeepers were less than bugs to me. I hated them. To be in the Hunger Games was what I wanted more than anything. To take my anger out on the Capitol, trick them somehow. This year’s games…I would volunteer. My brother would hate it…maybe even hate me. But that was a chance I would be willing to take.
Continuing down the street I passed a person who’s eyes would frequently glance into hers, only to flutter away, Finair. He was gorgeous obviously. But I had no time for boys or men. His shaggy blonde hair and sea green eyes were the talk of the girls at school. They adored him. But I never wanted much to do with the girls at school. Only trouble they were. His skin glistened with water in the sun. Out Fasting again I see? Tsk tsk, we are a bad boy aren’t we? I smirked and continued my walk home. I’d seen him plenty enough on the cliffs to the ocean. I would spend any free time I have either walking the streets of District 4 or swimming. I’d seen him dive, he was a lunatic in my book. No room for stupid people, I chided.
I must‘ve not been paying attention because I ran into someone. Hard. I usually pay attention but today I was out of my head. “Watch it!” I spat. My bum hit the pavement and a shot of pain lurched into my spine. “Ow…” I moaned. I glared at the block in my road.
OOC: Anyone can be the person. I really don’t care who it is. Lol! Just make sure it isn’t a Peacekeeper who’s going to kill me. XD
